Biography :

Dr. Veronique Billat is working as Professor of Exercise Science at the University of Paris, Saclay in France. At her lab she trained many professional and recreational athletes. She devoted his work to establishing the link between science and the empiricism of sports training by comparing experience from the ground to the physiological theory. She developed an individualized training method based on the physiological profile of the sportsman considering the energy at VO2max and its limiting factors. She tested and trained Robert Marchand, age 105, in Paris, the French amateur cyclist and world-record holder Robert Marchand which is more aerobically fit than most 50-year-olds and appears to be getting even fitter as he ages, according to a revelatory new study of his physiology. She  had found that if older athletes exercised intensely, they could increase their VO2 max.
