Katsunori Nonogaki , Tohoku University

Dr. Katsunori Nonogaki is a Professor at Tohoku University, Japan. After completion of MD, Ph.D. he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of California. His present work is on treatment for obesity, type 2 diabetes and their complications, and determining the physiological mechanisms. He has studied central serotonin network in the regulation of appetite and energy homeostasis. Lorcaserin, a selective 5-HT2C receptor agonist, which is used for the treatment of obesity, is based on the original research works by Nonogaki et al. Nonogaki is also developing novel medical devices for hypertension and diabetes.

This journal publishes research, reviews, case reports and letters emphasized on diet control, exercise, health issues and treatments in obese patients, drugs to reduce cholesterol levels, life style changes and weight loss surgeries.
